Sweden's Anna Swenn Larsson struck a blow in the first round of the Alpine Skiing World Cup slalom in Kranjska Gora (Slovenia) on Sunday, largely dominating her rivals.

In the absence of the American Mikaela Shiffrin, who stayed in Colorado following the death of her father, Anna Swenn Larsson, who never won a World Cup slalom, edged the Norwegian Nina Haver-Loeseth by 50 hundredths and the Swiss Wendy Holdener by 61 hundredths.

Huge favorite and already titled in two slaloms this season, the Slovakian Petra Vlhova is only 4th to 92 hundredths, without having committed a major fault.

The second round is scheduled at 12:45 GMT.
