The little boy placed with child welfare (ASE) in Seine-Saint-Denis because of parental violence and who had been kidnapped by his father has been found, said the prefecture of this department on Sunday. The 8-year-old child was brought by a member of his family Saturday evening to the Neuilly-sur-Marne police station (Seine-Saint-Denis), said the prefecture. He was placed in a home in Seine-et-Marne.

The little boy had been kidnapped by his father Thursday "at 4 pm (…) in an emergency home in Villepinte", in the Paris suburbs, explained Friday the Paris police headquarters which had launched a call for witnesses. He had been placed in this institution on Wednesday, "on the grounds in particular of aggravated violence committed by his father. They are both from Eastern European countries.

This abduction came a few days after the death of a little girl, Vanille, killed on her first birthday by her mother in Angers. Suffering from major psychiatric disorders, the latter had not brought her daughter as planned to the ASE where she was placed, and had suffocated her before abandoning her body in a clothing container. The “kidnapping alert” device had been triggered but had failed for the first time since its creation.

Thursday, the police headquarters also issued a call for witnesses after the abduction in Paris Tuesday of a premature baby by his mother in a Paris hospital.
