Pavlenski has been arrested Saturday afternoon on charges of "voluntary gun violence." The police investigation that has taken him to the police station of the 5th district of Paris was opened after a fight in which the dissident artist and asylum seeker in France would have injured three people with a knife.

The events took place on New Year's Eve, at the home of lawyer Juan Branco who claims to represent the artist. Branco is the lawyer of Julian Assange and a furious critic of capitalism and President Emmanuel Macron and his name is related to the 'yellow vests'.

After the dissemination of the videos, Branco told several French media that Pavlenski had consulted him before. He said he explained that it was "a political action against the Macron regime that he considers repressive and which he opposes as before Putin's."

The lawyer informed him of the consequences of his act. French law provides for two years in jail and 60,000 euros of fine to whom he disseminates "words and images of a sexual nature". Griveaux has filed a lawsuit today for "invasion of privacy" at the headquarters of the regional direction of the judicial police. The Prosecutor's Office has assigned the case to the crime repression brigade against individuals.

Pavlenski has already spent a year in prison for setting fire to the facade of a branch of the Bank of France in the Place de la Bastille in Paris. The events occurred in October 2017 after achieving political asylum in May of the same year. He was sentenced in January 2019 to three years in jail, of which one in firm prison.

Meanwhile, La República en Marcha, Macron's party, has brought together its directive bodies in Paris in search of a candidate who replaces Griveaux as headliner in the municipalities whose first round will be held on March 15. The president has made no comment in Munich where he attends a summit on Defense.
