This is stated in a message published on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

It is noted that the parties discussed issues of further strengthening Russian-Iranian multifaceted cooperation, including a schedule of upcoming contacts at various levels.

The meeting also discussed a number of aspects of the international agenda, including the situation in Syria and the issues of the Joint Comprehensive Action Plan (JCPOA) on the Iranian nuclear deal.

Earlier, Russian leader Vladimir Putin called the JCPOA a critical document for regional and global stability.
