The young man unceremoniously arrested Saturday in Bordeaux, during a demonstration of "yellow vests" interspersed with violence, filed a complaint, said his lawyer on Thursday.

“I filed a complaint in the hands of the public prosecutor of Bordeaux. This relates to acts of violence aggravated by three circumstances and repeated threats to commit a crime or a crime, "explained to AFP Me Gabriel Lassort, who had already announced his intention on social networks.

These three aggravating circumstances are linked to the fact that the alleged author (s) of the arrest, BAC police officers, are "persons in charge of public authority", that "use or threat of a weapon ”and that this was done“ in a meeting ”, assured the lawyer.

The real question is: is the use of force proportionate to the danger posed by the protester at that time? No.

IGPN seized

Even before the filing of this complaint for an inquiry which had been widely relayed on social networks, the Bordeaux public prosecutor's office announced Tuesday in a press release that it had seized the IGPN (General Inspectorate of the National Police) in order to be able to "base its decision future on the follow-up to this case ”.

Titled "Violent interpellation de la BAC", this 48-second video from an "independent and militant media" showed a young man bluntly arrested in the midst of travelers lined up in front of the glass walls of Bordeaux train station, including children.

“Appropriate and regulatory” inquiry for the police

Police told AFP on Monday that the arrest was "appropriate and regulatory" when the young man had previously been seen by a police officer "throwing stones" in the direction of the police.

According to the prosecution, two demonstrators, including the young man, had been arrested in particular for intentional violence against a person holding public authority as well as destruction and damage.

The "defendants have been heard and will be reconvened. The investigation opened against them continues in preliminary, "said the prosecution.
