M, KD, SD and V have pushed for the country's municipalities and regions to receive SEK 7.5 billion in government grants in 2020. This is 2.5 billion more than the January parties S, MP, C and L previously decided.

The Moderate Party leader Ulf Kristersson is convinced that the extra billions will make a difference.

- You are investing in things like a free year in a situation where all the country's municipalities have serious concerns with layoffs, cuts and lack of money. Then you have to see the reality in the white eye and prioritize right. And when the government did not do that, we took over the responsibility and did it for the government, he says in Aktuellt.

Finance Minister critical

Finance Minister Magdalena Andersson (S) is not as convinced.

- One should put 140 billion in tax cuts that Ulf Kristersson was involved in and implemented in perspective. This is the cost of the entire Swedish elderly care. It should be compared with SEK 2 billion in a one-off investment to the municipalities, ”she says.

Magdalena Andersson is critical of the opposition breaking an entry from the spring budget. With jumping majorities in Parliament, the budget process risks "becoming more Greek," she says in Aktuellt.

- I think it is good that there will be more money for welfare, but I see that we need large resources in the coming years. If you are to secure resources for welfare in the long term, you need to be orderly and clear in the budget process.
