There are four airports included in the project where the air traffic control is to be managed from Stockholm and the project is delayed by one year in total.
According to Ulf Thibblin, technical director at the Civil Aviation Administration, there are several different reasons for the project being delayed, but it has nothing to do with safety without several factors at play.
- It's hard to predict everything. If we take the airport part, the supplier does a type of inspection of each airport where they calculate time and cost, but that can only be done to a limited extent, he says.
What the new delay costs does not want the Swedish Civil Aviation Authority to respond to and refer to business secrets, but in March last year SVT Nyheter Västerbotten reported delays for the project and then it was estimated to increase the cost of the project with remote controlled air traffic by SEK 60 million according to an internal report such as Sweden's Radio's Caliber program taken part of.
