“Jorge Arreasa has arrived at the International Criminal Court in The Hague to submit a complaint about crimes against humanity by the US government on behalf of the Venezuelan people,” the statement reads on the Foreign Ministry’s Twitter page.

On February 7, the US Treasury Department imposed sanctions on the Venezuelan airline Conviasa and a number of its aircraft.

Later, the Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro said that Caracas will appeal to international courts in connection with Washington’s sanctions against this airline.
