Saad bin Sheridah Al-Kaabi, CEO and Director of Qatar Petroleum, announced that the Qatari energy companies will support their counterparts in China to face the repercussions of the outbreak of the Corona virus.

"I would like to express Qatar Petroleum's solidarity with its Chinese energy companies counterparts in order to meet any needs that would support all efforts made by its government to deal with the Corona virus and address its effects," Al-Kaabi said in a statement on Wednesday.

He added that the Qatari company is ready to divert the course of oil and gas shipments that were scheduled to go to China as a result of the spread of the virus.

It is noteworthy that Qatar is the largest supplier of LNG in the world.

And Chinese government refining companies recently decided to reduce their production for this month by up to about one million barrels per day.

Sinopec, the largest refining company in Asia, also said it was in talks with Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait to postpone or reduce oil shipments.
