On Wednesday, four teenagers were indicted for attempted murder of a volunteer firefighter in Dunkirk, in the North. They are suspected of having beaten up in early February, on the sidelines of the Black Cat Ball, a 27-year-old man in a coma since the facts.

The four accused, born between 2000 and 2004, were placed in pre-trial detention. Three of them are in penal establishments for minors, reported the prosecutor of the Republic of Dunkirk, Sébastien Piève. Two other young members of the group, aged 16 and 20, were placed under the intermediate status of assisted witness.

The victim still in a very worrying state

They are suspected of having violently attacked a group of carnival people they did not know, at the exit of the black cat ball, on the embankment of Malo-les-Bains, on the night of February 1 to 2. Arrested Monday, they denied their involvement in police custody.

They also charged with aggravated willful violence against the other members of the carnival group.

The victim, a young 27-year-old volunteer firefighter who was not on duty, is still in very serious condition, the source said.

The reason for the attack, which would have taken place very quickly, is not yet known. The thesis of a gratuitous aggression is not excluded.
