The president of the government, Pedro Sánchez , will receive in Moncloa next Monday the president of the PP, Pablo Casado . The appointment will take place at 12 noon. The Executive has communicated the meeting ensuring that "the dialogue with the opposition is very important" and the meeting has been closed, at the initiative of the president, one day after Sánchez invited Casado in Congress to collaborate with the Government in matters of State.
From the PP the meeting has also been confirmed, the first one that occurs between the two main political leaders of Spain after the investiture of Sanchez and once the electoral cycle of last year was finished, in which the policy was marked by the continuous contest at the polls and the very hard messages that the matches crossed.
"The meeting is framed within the institutional respect and responds to the attitude that Pablo Casado has always moved when he has been called to this type of meetings," said the PP. According to Genoa, Casado's purpose is that "the socialist government returns to the positions of moderation and centrality from which it has moved away after its pact with Podemos, Esquerra Republicana de Cataluña (ERC) and Bildu".
In particular, Casado will ask Sánchez his "concern for institutional degradation", the "question of Catalonia" and "the situation of economic slowdown and deterioration of employment in Spain".
