13 February 2020Hands behind his back, his head bowed and a scarf covering his eyes. This was the state of Gabriel Christian Natale Hjorth, the 18-year-old arrested on charges of killing Brigadier Mario Cerciello Rega, during his interrogation on 26 July after being arrested by the carabinieri. Corriere della Sera has published the exclusive video of those moments, already immortalized in a photo of the suspect with the eye patch.

The video also hears the voices of the carabinieri who are investigating him. Hjorth responds in broken Italian. "What's your name?" Ask the military. "What changes?" He replies. Then the questions go ahead and focus on a "red sweatshirt". "Where is he?" Ask the carabinieri. He struggles as if he hasn't understood the question. The video closes after just over thirty seconds. Two carabinieri risk the trial, the one who took the photo released a few months ago and the one who, instead, physically blindfolded the arrested person.
