“Let's consider a proposal that you might support: it would be right for us to create an institute for the protection of historical memory,” RIA Novosti quoted Volodina as saying.

According to him, given that the citizens of the USSR and Yugoslavia, the Russian and Serbian peoples suffered huge losses in the Second World War, they equally understand the need to protect the memory of the victims.

For her part, Goikovic said she supported the initiative. She called it very important for Serbia.

“At the parliamentary level, we will recommend this to our government so that they think about making a joint scientific institute,” said Goikovich.

Earlier, as reported by the FBA Economics Today, a leading researcher at the Institute of Europe of the Russian Academy of Sciences Sergey Fedorov commented on the plan to open a center for archival documents on the war in Russia.
