DBS, the largest bank in Singapore, evacuated hundreds of employees from its headquarters in a skyscraper today, Wednesday, after it was discovered that an employee had contracted the new mutated Corona virus.

The bank said that the employee was confirmed to be infected with the virus, on Wednesday morning, after testing yesterday .

The Corona virus appeared in a seafood market in Wuhan, the industrial capital of central China in December, and since then it has infected more than 44,000 people and killed more than 110 people in China .

The bank employee and his family received health support .

The bank said it monitors the possibility of an employee contacting employees and third parties .

About 300 employees from the 43rd floor of the Marina Bay Financial Center Tower were reportedly asked to work from home shortly after the bank received confirmation of the virus .

Singapore has 50 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, including that of a bank employee .
