The more the weeks pass, the more difficult it is to anticipate what will emerge from the ballot boxes in Lyon on March 15 and 22. The match is tightening for the March elections in the Lyon stronghold of LREM, whose candidates Gérard Collomb and Yann Cucherat are threatened by the Greens, LR and a dissenting macronist list, according to a poll.

Particularity of Lyon and the 58 other municipalities of the second agglomeration of France, two polls will take place simultaneously on March 15 and 22, one to elect the municipal councilors, the other the metropolitan councilors.

Gérard Collomb leads the list of the presidential party for the second and obtains 23% of the voting intentions in the first round, according to a BVA poll published Wednesday by the magazine Mag2Lyon. He is ahead of the EELV candidate Bruno Bernard (20%) and David Kimelfeld (18%), outgoing LREM president of the metropolis who leads a dissident list.

Since the fall, previous studies, carried out by other institutes, had given Gérard Collomb a more comfortable lead, with lower scores for David Kimelfeld. Behind them, the candidate LR François-Noël Buffet is credited with 14% of the voting intentions, that of RN Andrea Kotarac by 12% and Renaud Payre (list La Gauche Unie which brings together PS, PCF, Generation. S, Nouvelle Donne and Place Public) gets 9%.

For the town hall, the poll credits Yann Cucherat, Gérard Collomb's foal, with 22% of the voting intentions, against 19% for the candidate EELV Grégory Doucet and 18% for the candidate LR Etienne Blanc. Agnès Marion (RN, 9%) and Nathalie Perrin-Gilbert (DVG / LFI, 9%) are tied, then the former mayor LREM and dissident Georges Képénékian (8%) and the candidate of the United Left Sandrine Runel ( 7%).

In the second round, the EELV list, merged with that of the United Left, would win with 36% of the voting intentions in the event of a triangular vote against the LREM list and the LR list, shoulder to shoulder with 32% each. Hypothesis "to take with caution", underlines BVA, because measured on the whole of the city whereas the ballot will be divided into nine districts.

These polls carried out by telephone, from January 20 to 25 for the metropolis of Lyon and from January 27 to February 3 for the city of Lyon, with respective samples of 1,008 and 800 people registered on the electoral lists, constituted according to the method of quotas. Margin of error of 3.6 points.

BVA notes that for the metropolitan ballot, less than half of those questioned intend to vote, and that more than a third of voters have not yet made a final choice for the two elections.
