February 12, 2020 "The Government's primary objective is to protect employment, which is why a new meeting has been scheduled for next week with the liquidators, trade unions and representatives of the two regions involved, Sardinia and Lombardy, for further study of the proposals advanced today. " This was communicated by the Ministry of Infrastructure in a note released at the end of the meeting convened with MIT on Air Italy.

The liquidators of the company, still specifies the Mit in the note, confirmed the intention of the Air Italy shareholders to respect the commitments made with all the suppliers. "The representatives of the company - the MIT explains - have been asked to explore alternative routes to liquidation in bonis capable of guaranteeing the greatest possible safeguards for workers, in addition to the continuity of flights".

During today's meeting convened by Minister Paola De Micheli with the liquidators of the company, Enrico Laghi and Franco Maurizio Lagro, the Undersecretary for Economic Development, Alessandra Todde and the president of ENAC, Nicola Zaccheo, the Government reiterated to the commissioners of the Air Italy company, his strong irritation at the way in which he managed the affair and the lack of involvement of the institutions.

Proposals have been formulated to avoid further difficulties for passengers and in particular for air traffic in Sardinia, also considering the current guarantees of territorial continuity.

At the end of the meeting, the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Paola De Micheli confirmed the intention, repeatedly expressed, to start in February, in collaboration with ENAC, the definition of a new Airports Plan as well as to proceed to the revision of the rules of air transport, also in light of the evident contradiction between the growth of the market and the difficulties of the companies in the sector.
