• Appeal: The Prosecutor's Office notes that Sànchez does not meet the requirements for a 72-hour permit
  • Measure. The 'Jordis' will be released from jail during the day with article 100.2

Jordi Cuixart may have a new permit, this time for 72 hours, after the authorization received by the Penitentiary Surveillance Court. The magistrate thus opposes the criteria of the Prosecutor's Office, which considers that the circumstances for its concession do not occur either in the case of the president of Òmnium Cultural or in the three-day request made by the former ANC leader Jordi Sanchez.

Both Cuixart and Sànchez are entitled to 36 days of leave per year as they are classified in the second degree of prison and have already served a quarter of the nine-year prison sentence for sedition imposed by the Supreme Court last October. The first permission of both did not need the authorization of the court in January, since up to 48 hours the concession depends solely on the criteria of the Department of Justice of the Generalitat.

On the other hand, the Treatment Board of the Lledoners prison approved last Thursday the application of article 100.2 of the Penitentiary Regulations to Cuixart and Sànchez, which will allow them to leave the jail during the day to work or carry out volunteer work.

The Penitentiary Surveillance Court must also decide whether to ratify or reject this measure, although this is not an obstacle for the exit to be carried out immediately.
