The crisis center in central Skåne is in Lund, but violent and violent practitioners from seven other municipalities can turn here - Burlöv, Eslöv, Höör, Kävlinge, Lomma, Staffanstorp and Svalöv. Here you will find trained personnel in the field of violence in close relationships as well as a team working on honor-related violence.

- We find that we are needed. Right now we have 40 people in line who want to come here and we obviously want to be able to help everyone as quickly as possible, says Staffan Persson, unit manager.

During the 20 years Staffan Persson worked at the Crisis Center in central Skåne, the number of visitors from the smaller municipalities has gone hand in hand with the number of inhabitants in each municipality.

- In general, there are benefits to a crisis center. What can be a challenge is when a smaller municipality is part of a crisis center whose operations are located in a neighboring municipality and that it can be difficult to get there, says Hanna Hansson, development leader for violence in close relations Länsstyrelsen Skåne.

Half are women

In 2019, 701 people sought help at the crisis center in central Skåne. Of these, 365 were women, 150 men and 186 children.

- We work with every individual in a family where there is violence in close relationships, says Staffan Persson.

At a crisis center you can seek help anonymously and avoid medical records. The business is also located in a different location than the municipality's social services.

- This especially facilitates the perpetrators of violence who are looking here - which is mainly men. It can feel shameful to seek help for practicing violence and then the crisis center is a good alternative, says Staffan Persson.
