On Monday morning, the police set up a traffic control on the 50-lane through Ambjörby in Nordvärmland. And although Mondays are not a really traffic-intensive day, a lot of fines were printed.

- About 30 percent of those we measured drove too fast, says police assistant Mikael Blomberg.

"It's sad"

No compilation of the total number of fines had not been made by the traffic police when they left the checkpoint. But that it generally goes too fast on the 50-lanes through the Klarälvdalen is obvious to the police.

- It's sad that you can't respect the speed limits up here. It is also very well signposted, says Mikael Blomberg.

Increased police presence

The traffic control in Ambjörby was part of the police work to reduce the number of traffic violations in northern Värmland. On January 24, which was a change of day at the ski resorts, 120 riders got stuck during four hours of traffic control in Likenäs.

In connection with this check, the police promised an increased presence in Nordvärmland.
