10 February 2020 Historic triumph for "Parasite" by South Korean director Bong Joon-ho at the 92nd edition of the Oscars of cinema. Winner in Cannes and the Golden Globes, it was the first non-American film to receive the award for best cast at the Screen Guild Awards, 4 nominations at the Bafta, 12 at the Golden Derby Awards. "Parasite" is only the second Asian production title to ever be included in the category for best film, nineteen years after Ang Lee's "The Tiger and the Dragon". "Parasite" was born as a theatrical piece and contains autobiographical ideas. Bong Joon-ho as a young man worked as a private teacher in the service of a wealthy family.
