Symbol of global warming, the rise in temperatures scares all scientists. But it is also a great energy resource! To the point of becoming the king of this sector?

The increasingly hot sun symbolizes global warming but on the other hand, it is also a great resource! What if tomorrow the "queen" energy on Earth was solar?

By 2030, renewable energies will literally explode in the world: multiplied by two to provide 57% of electricity against 26 only today! And the energy of the future may well be solar. And for good reason, the sun has no equivalent: it is a primary resource, accessible to all and easily exploitable. In the near future the planet will be able to produce a terawatt, it's stratospheric, it's 1,000 billion watt. Currently, the "sun king" is called China, the leading producer ahead of the United States and Japan. The Gulf countries, which depend mainly on oil, in turn invest billions in solar power plants.

And where is France located?

Far from it, because in the land of nuclear energy, carbon-free, solar has long been neglected. Result, France, country of the sun of Pagnol produces less than Germany and that Great Britain which is however more famous for its drizzle than for its dodger! But today, in order to allow us to reach the objective which foresees a third of renewable in 2030, solar is fully encouraged! Multiplication of solar panels in individuals to produce their own electricity; incentive for farmers to heat their greenhouses with the sun but also to equip the roofs of their large buildings with Voltaic cells in order to do business with this energy.

And is this an opportunity for Africa to complete its solar revolution?

What exceptional untapped potential! Sunshine records: more than 3,000 hours per year, but only a dozen solar power plants in sub-Saharan Africa. Things are changing every year, ambitious projects are emerging: solar park in Morocco, floating power station off the coast of Côte d'Ivoire without forgetting the proliferation of solar kits. A battery connected to panels to light the house, charge your cellphone or consult the internet. Qotto, a French start-up, has just raised $ 6 million to sell it to 50,000 people in Benin and Burkina Faso. This energy can change the situation for a continent where today more than 650 million men and women are deprived of electricity, and say that in 2050, the population will have doubled. It is time for solar to offer a bright future to Africa.
