Thousands of people who were detained for five days on a cruise ship off the coast of Hong Kong were allowed to disembark on Sunday after checking that their crew members were not infected with the new Corona virus, at a time when the World Health Organization considered that the number of new infections recorded daily in China is "in a stable state."

The death toll from the epidemic has reached 813 people, including two in the Philippines and Hong Kong, and about 37,200 cases have been recorded in China, according to the National Health Commission.

The health authorities in Hong Kong have announced lifting quarantine measures imposed on the 1,800-person World Dream ship, and its 1,800 crew.

The authorities took these measures after some crew members were suspected of being infected with the new Corona virus during a previous flight.

Three Chinese were infected with the virus on the ship during a trip to Vietnam between January 19 and 24.

Hong Kong authorities prevented the ship from moving when it arrived on its shores Wednesday and conducted checks on its crew members. The passengers were not subjected to the analysis that they were not in contact with the three Chinese passengers with corona.

Quarantine
The passengers and crew of the ship were supposed to be quarantined until Tuesday, with the Hong Kong authorities confirming that the examination results need to be issued for four days.

But the health official at Hong Kong port, Yoon Yifu-hong, confirmed to AFP that "all the results were known this afternoon and they are all negative." He said it was not necessary to carry out checks on passengers because the risk of infection was minimal.

The 3,600 people on board will not have to remain quarantined in Hong Kong after their departure.

The Coruna virus has killed 813 people, including two in the Philippines and Hong Kong, in a toll that exceeds the global toll from the SARS epidemic, but the World Health Organization said it sees a stable number of new infections as "good news."

About 37,200 injuries were reported in China, according to the National Health Commission, but the number of new infections recorded daily is "in stable condition," according to the World Health Organization, which has been recording "a period of stability for four days."

"It is good news and this can reflect the impact of the control measures that have been taken," the organization says, noting at the same time that it is too early to say that the epidemic has passed its peak.

In late January, one of China's leading respiratory experts, Jung Nanshan, estimated that the epidemic could reach its climax around February 8 before it began to decline.

Ship in japan
On Sunday, Tokyo announced that six additional infections with the Coruna virus had been found on a ship off the coast of Japan, bringing the number of infected people to 70.

The results of the medical tests continue to be issued, while the passengers of the "Diamond Princess" ship face a quarantine for fear of spreading the virus. The Japanese authorities previously conducted medical examinations of 279 people on board the ship, which showed that 64 of them were infected with the virus.

In addition to the injuries on board, Japan recorded another 26 injuries on its soil.

Less oil
The Technical Committee of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and non-OPEC recommended to reduce oil production further by the end of the second quarter of this year.

She said that the Corona epidemic "negatively affects economic activities, especially the transportation, tourism and industrial sectors in China in particular."

For its part, the French government advised its citizens not to travel to China "unless there is a compelling reason". Five new infections were announced on Saturday, including four adults and a child, all of them British, bringing the number of injured in the country to 11.

The disease transmitted a person returning from Singapore to five people in his surroundings while staying at a ski resort in the Alps. Six other people were taken to hospital as a precaution.

Thirty-eight French nationals in Hubei, the epicenter, arrived Sunday in London on a British flight. The two hundred passengers will be isolated for two weeks.

Malaysia
On Sunday, Malaysia expanded the ban on visitors from China to include the regions of Zhejiang and Jiangsu, after Beijing decided to close cities in the two regions to curb the outbreak of the Coronavirus.

Malaysia had reported 16 confirmed cases of coronavirus as of Saturday. Two of the patients left hospital after recovery.
