“To date, 25 criminal cases have been registered on the facts of riots, calls for riots, killings, hooliganism, the use of violence against government officials, destruction of property, as well as the illegal manufacture of weapons,” Interfax quoted Kazakhstan Vice Prime Minister Berdibek Saparbayev.

Kazakhstan authorities said that in a mass brawl in the south of the country, ten people died and several dozen were injured, including five police officers. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the republic said that a road conflict became the cause of the riots.

To eliminate the consequences of the mass brawl, a government commission was created. The investigation of the incident took control of the prosecutor general of the republic.

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokaev ordered to dismiss the head of the Kordai district of the Zhambyl region of the republic in which the riots took place.
