A second and "last" London-chartered plane to repatriate about 200 Britons and other foreign nationals still in Hubei province, the epicenter of the new coronavirus epidemic, landed in the UK on Sunday morning. Some 200 people are on board, British or other nationalities, "including our team who facilitated the flight and medical staff," said the Foreign Ministry on Saturday in a statement.
The French Minister of Health, Agnès Buzyn, indicated on Friday that 38 French and French people would be repatriated on this British flight. The returnees will be isolated for fourteen days. London had previously advised the estimated 30,000 Britons in China to leave the country to minimize their exposure to the virus that appeared in December. The United Kingdom had already repatriated 94 Britons from Wuhan, including 83 on a first flight chartered by the British authorities, in cooperation with the Spanish authorities, and 11 who came on a French flight co-financed by the European Union.

“We have a four-day stability period where the number of reported cases has not increased. This is good news and it could reflect the impact of the controls that have been put in place, "said WHO emergency health program manager Michael Ryan. In mainland China, the number of confirmed cases on Sunday was nearly 37,200, or 2,600 additional cases compared to the previous daily assessment.
The latter figure is significantly lower than the nearly 3,900 new infections announced on Wednesday by the Chinese authorities in their daily report. The number of suspected cases has also decreased significantly: it was just over 3,900 on Sunday for the last 24 hours, against more than 5,300 in the report released Thursday. In late January, one of China's top respiratory specialists, Zhong Nanshan, estimated that the epidemic could peak around February 8 before starting to ebb.

811 is therefore the number of deaths officially linked to the new coronavirus according to the latest assessment. With this figure, the epidemic exceeds the mortality of SARS (774) in the early 2000s. At the time, SARS was nonetheless less contagious and therefore had a much higher mortality rate for infected and contaminated people.
