The group that went skiing on the bare ground this week consists of a hard-working group of skiing youngsters aged 11 to 15 years.

- We try to keep the motivation for our young people going, but it's not very easy with the winter we've had. Even though we have fun in the womb training, young people are starting to get tired of this. They are hungry on snow, says Otto Carlander, coach at Sya ski club.

During the season, several ski competitions have been canceled and Sya's youth club has had to go all the way to northern Dalarna to compete.

- This can crack an entire generation of skiers. In the 90s, many people quit and it is difficult to get new younger ones. They start with skis to ski, not to run in the woods, says Otta Carlander.

During training, the young people used old equipment.
