The French Minister of Health Agnès Buzyn announced, Saturday, February 8, five new cases of coronavirus 2019-nCoV in France, whose clinical condition shows "no sign of seriousness".

"We had confirmation last night [Friday] of several new cases of coronavirus in France, these new cases are five in number", four adults and a child, she said at a press conference in Paris.

"The initial case was reported to us last night, it is a British national returning from Singapore where he had stayed from January 20 to 23," she added. "He arrived on January 24 in France for four days, he stayed in the town of Contamines-Montjoie, in Haute-Savoie."

"All of the positive cases and contacts of this British national, that is 11 people in total, all of British nationality, resided in the same chalet and were hospitalized that night in three hospitals" in Lyon, Saint-Etienne and Grenoble " , she said, adding that their clinical condition showed "no sign of seriousness".

These new cases bring the number of confirmed coronavirus cases in France to eleven.
