“Without power supply, there were household consumers in the cities of Grozny, Gudermes, Argun and 51 settlements in Grozny, Gudermes, Shali, Shelkovsky, Kurchaloevsky districts (about 83,800 people),” the department’s reference report says.

The Ministry of Energy clarified that the cause of the accident was snowfall, a blizzard and a squally wind.

“22 brigades consisting of 47 people and 23 units of special equipment were involved in emergency repairs,” the document says.
