Region Jämtland Härjedalen is the first unit in the Northern healthcare region to be granted the status of a university medical unit outside Region Västerbotten. The status means that the education and research activities in general medicine in the region have reached such a high quality that it meets all the requirements to become a university healthcare unit.
- Public medicine has long been one of our strong research areas. The fact that our primary care becomes a university health care unit is a great success for the research and education activities conducted within our primary care, writes Göran Larsson, director of research and education in the Jämtland Härjedalen region, in a press release.
Most health centers in the county receive students for clinical counseling. According to the region, most students are very satisfied with their placements and often receive top marks in their evaluations.
