From a young age, the passion of the young citizen, Hamad Salem Al-Mutawa (20 years), was associated with architecture and its fine engineering details. Al-Mutawa aspires to be an active player in the urban revolution experienced by the Emirates, and contributes to creating distinct urban edifices on the horizon of the state, as well as looking to become a world famous architect, spreading his Arab-Islamic culture and identity in all the world.

Al-Mutawa, who is on scholarship to study by the Ministry of Education, told «Emirates Today» that since childhood he is passionate about architecture and various monuments, such as buildings, bridges and everything related to cities and civilization planning, continuing “We cannot be neglected in the Emirate of Sharjah, which had the greatest role in refining This passion, it is the capital of Arab culture in 1998, and the capital of Islamic culture in 2014, and the capital of Arab tourism in 2015 ».

He pointed to the great position occupied by culture in Sharjah with its various features, most notably architecture, and its organization of various festivals, especially heritage, in addition to many museums, archaeological sites and cultural centers.

He continued: “I started my first steps at the Sharjah Children’s Centers, then the Sharjah Art Institute, and my rich experience in them contributed significantly to developing my skills, enhancing my confidence and achieving my successes, which was reflected in the scientific awards that I received, such as membership of the Sharjah Youth Shura Council. 2015-2017, the Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Excellence in Educational Performance three courses, the Sharjah Award for Educational Excellence in two sessions, the Arab Education Council Award for the Gulf Cooperation Council countries in Jeddah, and the Latifa Award for Childhood Creativity six times ».

Al-Mutawa won the award for Best Film and Best Promising Director in the Competition Program for Empowerment "I appreciate", which is affiliated with the Ministry of Interior.

Al-Mutawa, the student in the first academic year, narrated that architecture is not limited to buildings, but rather many fields, and are closely related to anthropology, economics, politics, environmental science, technology, mathematics, physical and chemical laws, etc., and since ancient times it was a mirror and a measure of the extent of the rise and development and progress of countries, and a reflection of the extent of Culture and awareness of peoples.

He stressed that «what the country is witnessing from an urban renaissance is only a picture of its progress in various fields, and an embodiment of the insight into its leaders’.

Al-Mutawa pointed out that “although we live in a time of technology that brings the distant, I still suffer from the feelings of longing and nostalgia imposed by alienation.

He stressed the importance of activities and events, and its role in creating a big difference, therefore he works to form the Emirates Emirati Association, which aims to involve the scholarship student in activities and events, explaining that the association will be responsible for organizing activities for Emirati scholars in the city of Liverpool and its surrounding areas, and will work to spread culture Emirati students for foreign students, like other Emirati societies in several regions of the world.

Support scholarships

The young citizen Hamad Salem Al-Mutawa hailed the role of the Cultural Attaché in the capital, London, in supporting scholarships, as well as the Federal Youth Foundation, and the Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Federal Youth Foundation, Shamma Al-Mazrouei, which pays great attention to the country's youth abroad.

He said that he participated in the Emirates Global Youth Forum, which was held last year in London, as part of the activities of the Global Initiative for Emirates Youth, which was launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, in a youth episode on International Youth Day , Which aims to activate their role around the world in creating a good reputation for the Emirates, by strengthening the links between the youth of the Emirates and the world, introducing the authentic Emirati values, and building a generation familiar with global trends.
