It is present in our lives from waking to bedtime and sometimes even slips into our beds. The smartphone has become essential in our ultra-connected society. But this Thursday is the day without a laptop, a time that should allow us to think about our use of the telephone when we spend an average of 2 hours 20 minutes a day, or 34 days and 34 nights a year - a figure that is climbing even at more than five hours in teens. The opportunity to reflect on our uses.

But the world of smartphones is evolving very quickly, and it's a safe bet that our use will change radically. "There are more and more of them," describes analyst Thomas Husson, of the Forrester firm, at the microphone of Europe 1.

Olfactory sensors within 4-5 years?

"Our phone will help us scan the world around us. For example, everything that is augmented reality will develop at high speed," he predicts. Even anticipating applications that could allow us to "scan our food using olfactory sensors" within 4-5 years. But before sharing with your friends the result of an olfactory test of your restaurant meal, it is above all progress on batteries that is expected in the coming years.

Not necessarily so that they last longer, but so that they recharge much faster, in just 10 minutes. Some prototypes allow it, it would already be a small revolution.
