The three municipalities Norsjö, Malå and Sorsele collaborate on the waste. A garbage truck collects all garbage for just under 10,000 people on an area as large as Skåne.
Starting in 2021, a new garbage dump will start to apply that says that food waste should be sorted out.
- For some municipalities in this region, the distances become so large that environmental benefits become questionable, says Norsjö's technical manager Elin Andersson.
The Swedish Environmental Protection Agency now opens for a change for municipalities such as Norsjö.
