- I've been so full of appreciation, of warmth during these weeks, so I'm totally ... just like this, says Ulla Andersson and takes care of her chest when SVT News meets her on Wednesday morning.

Ulla Andersson's name came up again and again in speculation about the Left Party's new party leader since Jonas Sjöstedt announced his departure. Andersson was also nominated by three districts. But in an interview with Aftonbladet on Tuesday, the answer finally came - she does not want to run for office as party leader.

"Not my driving force to go public"

One of the reasons is that she enjoys her current role as economic-political spokesperson and wants to continue her work in that field, says Ulla Andersson.

You could do that anyway - why don't you just want to be a party leader?

- I think economic policy is the most crucial thing for society and I want to keep doing it. Of course, there is also a pressure and an ultimate responsibility to be a party leader - you become very public and that has not been my driving force.

Want to party board

At the same time, Ulla Andersson will take a step forward and be a candidate for the party board - which she left two years ago.

- V's role is so unique now and I want to be a significant part of that work. I also want to be supportive of the newly elected chairman. I've been with for a long time, have some experience and I'm pretty good at policy development and strategy, I say.

Ulla Andersson wants to give his support to Nooshi Dadgostar, who is running for office as the leader of the Left Party.
