- Plug'Heur should be available by next week in Bordeaux.
- Some 80 places in the city center will be equipped with a box that allows you to recover an external battery for your smartphone for a few hours.
- Beforehand, you will need to download an app that will unlock the box.
They are fully aware that the market for the external battery for smartphones is booming, and democratizing. But they remain convinced that the solution they propose is complementary. Three young Bordeaux residents will launch by next week Plug'Heur, a new self-service external battery rental service.
"The idea is to have bars, restaurants, grocery stores, boxes in different locations in downtown Bordeaux, which allow you to recover an external battery for one, two or twenty-four hours," explains Emile Granveau , one of the three students behind this initiative. Three cables will be offered so that the user can choose the one compatible with his smartphone.
Batteries available in 80 locations
Beforehand, you must have downloaded the Plug'Heur app (on IOS and Android) on your smartphone - it will be available in the coming days - which will unlock the box with a QR code. The boxes should be available in 80 locations, approximately every 300 meters, by next week. Including in night clubs to offer a service available 24/24 h.
"Our goal is really to allow someone who suddenly finds themselves without a battery, to be able to recharge urgently for an hour or two and then easily re-deposit the external battery," continues Emile Granveau, who said that he primarily targets "the clientele of 18-35 years old, and tourists ”.

The proposed rate will be 0.99 euros / hour, and 3.99 euros / 24 hours. The three students, who won the Business Nursery award from Kedge Business School, hope to be able to develop their solution in other cities after Bordeaux.
