YouTube, the world's largest video sharing platform, sold $ 18 trillion in advertising last year.

According to CNN and CNBC, Google's parent company Alphabet released its first YouTube ad revenue for the first time in the fourth quarter of last year.

YouTube's advertising revenue last year was $ 1.15 billion (about 18 trillion won).

It's up 36% year over year, up 86% from 2017.

Responsive ads, where you click on your brand ads and product review videos, buy them immediately, have driven sales growth.

YouTube advertising revenue in the fourth quarter last year was $ 4.72 billion.

"Youtube is growing very fast and sales are more than we expected," said market researcher IMarker.

In addition, Sundar Pichai Alphabet Chief Executive Officer made $ 3 billion in the fourth quarter last year on non-advertisement revenue, including additional subscription fee income.

Pichai adds more than 20 million YouTube paid subscribers.

The alphabet's sales for the fourth quarter of last year were $ 46.8 billion.

Wall Street consensus (average earnings estimates) fell short of $ 4,470 million.

Sales growth was 17 percent year-over-year, lower than the second quarter (20 percent) and the third quarter (19 percent).

The earnings per share of the alphabet was $ 15.35, more than the market consensus ($ 12.53).

The alphabet has been divided into Google's ads and 'other' so far, and the company has announced that it will be further divided into search, YouTube, and cloud.

The alphabet explained that it is intended to provide deeper insight into the company's business and future opportunities.

Google's core business revenue, which the company calls "Google Search and More," reached $ 98 billion last year.

60% of the total sales of the alphabet.

Google Cloud's revenue was $ 8.92 billion.

On that day, Google's share price dropped about 5% in after-hours trading.

The alphabet's fourth quarter earnings release was the first public report since December last year when co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin retired from management and Pichai took over the baton.
