Industry giant is investing in hydrogen as an energy source

The Industry Court makes a major investment in hydrogen with support from the municipality of Finspång, the County Administrative Board of Östergötland, Chalmers University of Technology and the University of Italian Bologna. The project will also receive SEK 30 million in support from the Swedish Energy Agency.

- Hydrogen is something we see as the fuel of the future. We also look at other green fuels, but hydrogen has great potential, says project manager at Siemens Åsa Lyckström.

Siemens receives clear signals that there is a global interest in hydrogen.

- Yes, there is interest. This spring I had customers from four different countries for one week. It was China, Japan, Taiwan and Russia. Completely unprovoked, they asked questions about just hydrogen, all four, so things start to move around the world, says Hans Holmström, CEO at Siemens in Finspång.
