"In Latin America, we somehow manage to live and design a world where values are exalted in the communicative vigor of a multicultural reality". This reality described by Carlos Fuentes sums up the signature of the project created by Sophie Fustec: LA CHICA. Since it is indeed from this "multicultural reality" between Latin America and France, between Paris Belleville and Venezuela, that his compositions, his words and his style are born. Through her music, La Chica brings these two worlds together by offering a collage of sound textures, borrowed from its heritage and various modern influences, while breaking established codes. It was around the piano and keyboards that his universe was created, skillfully mixing his classical inspirations, his love for Debussy with the depth of the layers of analog synths.

After a first collaboration between the National Jazz Orchestra and dedalus around Philip Glass in 2015, musicians from the 2 groups meet to create a monographic program of the music of David Lang. In Death Speaks, Lang imagines that if Schubert composed music today, he would certainly make Indie Rock! The result is an extraordinary piece, between pop and chamber music, initially performed by Shara Worden (My Brightest Diamond), Bryce Dessner (The National), Owen Pallett and Nico Muhly. Warmth (for 2 electric guitars) and Killer for saturated violin and tape perfectly complement a program that masterfully combines chiselled writing and its rock, post-modernism and indie rock, particularly suitable for musicians gathered for the occasion.
