"Vabruari" is here, but this year it looks brighter than usual. According to the Public Health Authority's latest weekly report, almost half as many people were affected by the flu as the year before in the country.
And in Blekinge it looks pretty much like that.
- This year we have seven flu cases detected so far, last year it was fifteen. Admittedly, there are people who have gotten so badly that they need to seek care, but it still says some, says Bengt Wittesjö, infection prevention physician at Region Blekinge.
What the mild flu season is due to is unclear.
- You can only speculate on this, if it has been a mild winter that has not been properly attached. But it can be stated that the peak we usually have during week six will come much later.
