The digital health care tool would help healthcare professionals in diagnosis and treatment. It would be introduced at all publicly owned health centers in Skåne and Västra Götaland. But the procurement is suspected to be rigged, which SVT's Assignment review revealed.

This caused the Skåne region to stop all cooperation with the supplier with immediate effect. Something that now also the Västra Götaland region has done after sitting most of Monday. And late on Monday afternoon, SVT News Väst gets in touch with Lars Loftäng, Head of Group Purchasing within the Västra Götaland region.

- We have concluded that we park all ongoing cooperation with the company in question. We will make a decision on the next step when the result of the investigation as a region of Skåne starts, when it is available, he says.

Is there anything that worries you that there are suspicions of irregularities?

- If that were so, then it is not good no. But we get what the outcome of the investigation will be, says Lars Loftäng, Head of Group Purchasing.

SEK 600 million

For the Västra Götaland region, the procurement is about SEK 600 million.

Is it reasonable that such a large procurement is handled by another region?

- That's what we sometimes do to work together, says Lars Loftäng.

Is it a responsible way of managing the region's money?

- It usually works well but we will see in this situation what the investigation gives for results.

Have you been in contact with the Skåne region regarding this?

- Yes, we have, but we have not received more information about this than the media.
