“The first flight of the first prototype deeply modernized missile carrier-bomber Tu-160M took place,” the Tupolev press service quoted RIA Novosti as saying.
It is specified that the Tu-160M aircraft was created on the basis of the Tu-160 combat drill.
It is also reported that the test flight took place at an altitude of 1,500 m and lasted 34 minutes.
“According to the crew, the flight went normally, the systems and equipment worked without comment,” the text says.
Earlier, Russian Minister of Defense Sergei Shoigu at a meeting on maintaining good condition of weapons, military and special equipment of the airborne forces spoke about the characteristics of the first serial modernized strategic bomber Tu-160M.
