This was stated by the head of the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of the warring parties in Syria, Major General Yuri Borenkov.

According to him, drones launched from the territory of the Idlib de-escalation zone controlled by militants were discovered by means of monitoring the airspace of the Russian air base on February 1 at about 23:00.

“By means of electronic warfare of the air base, the control was intercepted and all UAVs incapacitated by a disruption in the functioning of control systems,” Borenkov said.

He added that there were no injuries, no material damage. The Khmeimim base operates as planned.

On January 19, the military repelled an attack by militant drones at the Khmeimim air base.
