“President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky ... set a number of tasks for the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine in order to strengthen measures to prevent the entry of Chinese coronavirus and the spread of the disease in Ukraine,” the Ukrainian leader’s website says.

It is specified that Zelensky gave the task to transfer the activities of the operational headquarters to prevent the spread of the disease in Ukraine, operating under the Ministry of Health, to the level of the cabinet, creating an appropriate working group.

Earlier, WHO recognized the outbreak of coronavirus in China as an emergency of international importance. The organization called for helping countries with weak health systems prepare for the fight against the disease.

On January 27, Ukrainian Prime Minister Aleksey Goncharuk announced that the government has strengthened security measures, namely control at the country's entry points to protect against the potential threat of coronavirus.
