French pole vaulter Renaud Lavillenie won Friday in Karlsruhe (Germany), the second stage of the world indoor athletics circuit, where Ukrainian Yaroslava Mahuchikh broke the world record under 20 years old.

We expected a little better from the men's pole competition: Renaud Lavillenie, 2012 Olympic champion, won but stopped at 5.70 m. He is ahead of his brother Valentin and the Dutchman Menno Vloon in the number of tries.

In the ladies, the world champion of the length Malaika Mihambo took the second place with a jump to 6.83 m. It stopped after four tries, as it had announced, leaving the victory to the Ukrainian Maryna Bech-Romantschuk (6.92 m), silver medalist at the Worlds.

At the height, another Ukrainian created the sensation: Yaroslava Mahuchikh, aged 18, won by breaking the world record under 20 with a jump to 2.02 m.

The next stages of the world indoor circuit are planned in Düsseldorf (February 4), again in Germany, in Torun in Poland (February 8), in Glasgow in the United Kingdom (February 15), in Liévin in France (February 19) and to finish in Madrid on February 21.
