Caremitou connected litter - NovandSat - Caremitou

  • Caremitou is a connected litter box, which allows you to monitor the health of your cat.
  • It allows to analyze the weight, the temperature, and to make urine analyzes.
  • The innovation, distinguished at CES in Las Vegas, will be available this summer.

Caremitou is a litter box like no other. This small house for cats, imagined by Montpellier entrepreneur Philippe Daurenjou, allows a whole bunch of analyzes to be carried out without the animal noticing. This amazing invention, which offers owners the opportunity to monitor the health of their cats in real time, was awarded an Innovation Award at the last CES in Las Vegas.

"The cat is a very poorly medicalized species", notes Philippe Daurenjou, who has worked for thirty years in veterinary medical diagnosis. And above all, when he arrives in a cage, at the clinic, the kitty is often stressed, which makes the analysis of symptoms more difficult. “In a stressed cat, the level of glucose circulating in the blood explodes, the analyzes are therefore distorted, says Jean-François Audrin, veterinarian and head of several clinics in Montpellier, who participated in the design of this product. At home, without the animal realizing it, it is much more reliable. "

"Detect possible diseases as soon as possible"

Via sensors, this small house, which can accommodate any litter, makes it possible to detect any variations in weight, temperature, frequency and duration of visits to the bin. Caremitou also allows urine analysis, via a "pad" hidden in the tank. The data can be transferred to the veterinarian, with a dedicated mobile application. "The interest, for veterinarians, is, from a distance, to be able to better know the animal in its habits, and to detect possible diseases as soon as possible", such as diabetes or renal failure, continues Philippe Daurenjou.

"As soon as the first signs appear, we can intervene," explains Jean-François Audrin. The innovation, supported by the Montpellier company Novandsat, will be available this summer from veterinarians, between 300 and 350 euros.
