The facts of which he is accused are of great violence. Police said a 19-year-old man was due to be brought to the prosecution Wednesday in Lyon for hitting, abducting and kidnapping his 17-year-old ex-girlfriend.

The alleged events took place on January 24, in Rillieux-la-Pape, near Lyon. After seeing messages, intended for someone other than him, on the girl's phone, the suspect became mad with jealousy. He then broke the cell before hitting his ex-girlfriend.

In his anger, he would then have taken and sequestered him at home, continuing to beat him, adds this Thursday the safety of the Rhone. The victim managed to contact his mother, who notified the police. The police finally arrested the young man on January 27. The suspect is said to have partially acknowledged the facts while in police custody.
