A little overwhelmed in January, the French skicross team has an opportunity to redeem themselves at the World Cup on Saturday in its snow in Megève (Haute-Savoie) while the cross-country skiers are taking a break for a weekend.
. Skicross: Megève to bounce back
After some disappointing outings in recent weeks, the French skicrossers will leave Saturday in Megève to take on the competition, and in particular the Canadians, who occupy three of the first four places in the ranking, including that of leader with Kevin Drury.
The two boys best placed in the general classification are Bastien Midol (5th at 275 pts from Drury) and François Place (7th at 326 pts). In girls, Marielle Berger-Sabbatel occupies with 373 pts the fifth place of a classification dominated by the Swedish Sandra Naeslund (730 pts).
Jean-Frédéric Chapuis, triple winner of the World Cup (2015-16-17) recently operated for appendicitis, is still absent.
. Slopestyle: ... after the X Games
Tess Ledeux, winner of the Big Air event at the prestigious X Games in Aspen last week, but missed out on the slopestyle event, finds the world cup on Friday in Mammoth, California.
Winner of the opening round of the slopestyle world cup in December in Font-Romeu, the 18-year-old Boraine is currently tied for the general classification of this discipline, just four points behind the two leaders Johanne Killi ( NOR) and Guilia Tanno (SUI).
