Here is the list of countries and territories that have announced confirmed cases of disease due to the new coronavirus since its spread from the Chinese city of Wuhan, where it appeared in December.

- CHINA -

About 7,700 people were infected in China, where 170 patients died, according to the latest official report on January 30.

Almost all of the deaths occurred in the Hubei region, the cradle of the contagion.

- Ten cases of contamination were recorded in the autonomous region of Hong Kong. Several of these people stayed in Wuhan.

- One case has been reported in Tibet.

- ASIA PACIFIC -

Australia

Seven cases have been confirmed there. Patients are hospitalized in a stable state.

Cambodia

The Ministry of Health reported a case on January 27, a 60-year-old man arrived from Wuhan.

South Korea

Authorities confirmed four cases, three Chinese and one South Korean, all of whom were from Wuhan.

Japan

Eleven cases of contamination have been identified.

Authorities first confirmed seven cases on January 28, including the first of human-to-human transmission, a man in his 60s who transported tourists from the Wuhan region in his bus. Then a woman working as a guide in this vehicle was also infected.

On January 30, the Minister of Health announced that three of the 206 Japanese passengers evacuated from Wuhan on Wednesday were contaminated. "One of the three returnees who tested positive developed symptoms, but not the other two," said Katsunobu Kato.

Malaysia

The country has reported seven cases, all Chinese from Wuhan going on vacation to Malaysia.

Nepal

One case was reported on January 24. He is a 32-year-old man who returned on January 9 from Wuhan, who left the hospital cured.

Singapore

Ten cases confirmed to date, of people recently arrived from Wuhan.

Sri Lanka

The first case was confirmed there on January 27: a 43-year-old Chinese tourist arrived from Hubei province.

Taiwan

A total of eight cases have been reported, including two Chinese women in their 70s who arrived on January 22, as part of a group trip.

Thailand

Authorities announced 14 confirmed cases on January 28. It is the most affected country after China. They are all Chinese, except a 73-year-old Thai woman who had stayed in Wuhan.

Vietnam

Authorities have confirmed two cases. They are two Chinese, a man who arrived in Vietnam on January 13 from Wuhan and his son living in Ho Chi Minh City, whom he then infected.

- AMERICAS -

Canada

Canada reported its first case on January 27, a man who traveled to Wuhan. A second case - also a man recently returned from Wuhan - was confirmed on the 28th.

United States

Five people were infected with the virus there. They all "traveled directly to Wuhan," according to the authorities.

- EUROPE -

Germany

Four people hospitalized in Bavaria, within the same company. One of them was contaminated by one of his Chinese colleagues during a training session, which constitutes the first transmission of the virus identified on European soil.

Finland

First case confirmed on January 29, a Chinese tourist from Wuhan.

France

Five confirmed cases of contamination by the new coronavirus. The first three cases - the first in Europe - were confirmed on January 24, one in Bordeaux (southwest), the other two in Paris. These three patients had recently traveled to China.

A fourth case was announced on January 28: an elderly Chinese tourist hospitalized in Paris in serious condition.

Her daughter was also infected.

- MIDDLE EAST -

United Arab Emirates

At least four cases confirmed on Wednesday, all members of a Chinese family from Wuhan.
