The staff cooperative's permit was withdrawn by the municipality in December last year since the preschool and elementary school board concluded that Bilaal did not meet the requirements of the School Act. On February 1, 2020, the permit expires. According to the Board, there were major and serious deficiencies in important areas.
The committee's chairman Moa Brydsten (S) says that the politicians have now found a solution for the 60 children attending Bilila's two preschools in Umeå. Everyone has been offered an offer but some have chosen to refuse. In total there are 9 children who refused, 7 of 40 at Ersboda and 2 of 18 at Ålidhem.
- We try to work so that everyone gets a place according to their wishes. But based on the wishes we have received, we have tried to work as best we can. Not all children will be able to end up in the same place. We do not have empty departments but have had to take into account the organization we have, ”says Moa Brydsten (S), who adds that they are still trying to find solutions for those who declined.
