Region Uppsala has now provided a response to the Inspection for Health and Care (IVO) due to the fall in material fall. The background is the lack of health care material that arose in October last year after a supplier change. IVO then initiated a supervisory case and asked a number of questions to the Uppsala Region.

In the region's response, it is now possible to read, among other things, that the lack of material combined posed a risk of injury. One of the reasons was But there are no reports to suggest that any patient was actually injured due to the lack of material.

The answer also states that there are patient safety risks in the longer term, among other things because lack of laboratory material has meant that samples have not been taken on time which can lead to delayed diagnosis and that lack of restructuring material can mean that wounds do not heal properly. But neither of those points has any actual injury reported.

Region Uppsala will also introduce a parallel ordering service from other suppliers and set up a contingency warehouse.
