It was easy prey. An 11-year-old boy was violently robbed by a man on Tuesday in downtown Toulouse. The events occurred around 11 am when the child was traveling alone to a medical appointment. Once at his destination, he took out a phone to tell his mother that he had arrived.

At the same time, a man appeared in the lobby of the building and ripped the phone off of the boy, who fell on his knees. According to a police source, the thief even threw a cynic “thank you, goodbye” to the victim before fleeing. Except the boy came out of the building in tears.

Alerted by his cries, workers who worked on a nearby construction site intercepted the man and immobilized him before alerting the police. It was a municipal police patrol that picked him up before his transfer to the police station.

The alleged thief, well known to the police, is 27 years old. Another cell phone was found on him. He had been stolen two days earlier from a sixties woman, on a train from Ariège.
