“To date, 50 US troops have been diagnosed with brain injuries as a result of a missile strike by Iran,” TASS quoted Colonel General Thomas Campbell, US Department of Defense spokesman.
He also did not rule out that the number of victims could increase.
The Pentagon previously reported 34 casualties.
On January 3, Iranian general Kassem Suleimani was killed as a result of a US special operation in the vicinity of the airport in Baghdad.
On the night of January 8, the Iranian side announced a retaliation operation for the murder of Suleimani. Iran fired rockets at two US bases in Iraq.
